Savvas Hadjigiorkis and his wife Katerina, created a household stone-mill unit to accommodate the needs for flour of the Famagusta region.

After operating for two years in Paphos, the flourmill is moving to the new facilities created in Frenaros and then Savvas Hadjigiorkis and Sons Ltd was officially established.

The company is proceeding with its biggest upgrade so far, replacing the old machinery with new ones.

1998
In March, 1998 the company imports an automatic package machine. Packages were made in 25kg and 50 kg for the first time in Cyprus. Concurrently, the names and the codes of several products are standardized.
2001
The company is certified with ISO 9001:2000 quality management systemsby the Cyprus Certification Company (CYC). The same year, the company becomes the sole representative and distributor of Kenfood S.A. bakery and confectionery raw materials in Cyprus.

Renewal and upgrade of the productive procedure. Upgrade of the Quality Control Laboratory machinery.

The company purchases the goodwill of “Andreas Koullapidis Ltd” (flourmill in Nicosia) and increases its market share in the Cypriot market.
2006
Construction of a 1400 m2 warehouse for storing the final packaged products. The company is awarded with the “Occupational Health and Safety Management” certificate (OHSAS 18001) by the Cyprus Certification Company (CYC).
2007
Construction of 8 silos for wheat storage, with a total capacity of 9,600tn

The company is awarded with the Environmental Management System (EMAS/ISO 14001), by the Cyprus Certification Company (CYC).
2013
Upgrade of the milling procedure and replacement of the old cylinders with last technology ones. Expansion of the warehouse. Upgrade of the packaging procedures with the addition of 1kg and 5 kg packages.
2016
The company was honoured to be included in the three companies that were awarded at the 2nd Corporate Social Responsibility Contest, held by the Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council. Savvas Hadjigiorkis & Sons Ltd was awarded for its voluntary initiatives and activities that aim to help the local society. The awarding ceremony took place during the reception that held the presidential couple in honour of the volunteers on December 1st 2016, at the Presidential House.
Since its foundation, Savvas Hadjigiorkis & Sons Ltd has been trying to support the community in any way possible, in collaboration with its staff and its partners and aims to try to do so in the days to come.

On 4th of February 2017 with great pleasure and honour our company was awarded from Daxi Business Awards as the Business of the year for 2016 at the awards ceremony of Daxi Magazine. 2018
At the Annual Quality Event co-organized by the Cyprus Certification Company (CCC) and the Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS) on June 11, 2018, the Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate FSSC 22000 was awarded to our company after a successful inspection on 29 & 30 September 2017. Continuing the road that has begun since 2001 (with the implementation and certification of ISO 9000), our company, with the certification and implementation of the FSSC 22000, reinforces the existing ISO 22000 Food Safety and Hygiene System (with which it was certified in 2003) continue to provide high-quality products that are hygienically safe for the consumer, thus meeting the demands of our customers and partners who, on this occasion, are very grateful for their cooperation and trust!
